Biking in Lambertville

I did not expected to be visiting Bucks County again so soon but I'm always up for an adventure! Today the gang went for a 10+ mile bike ride along the historic D&R Canal Trail towpath that transverses across three New Jersey counties. It was miserably hot and humid today, but if Sigmund can survive the heat, I can't complain too much!

This Week // Blue Apron #2

It's been such a gloomy day here in Philadelphia with all of the rain and thunderstorms, but my second food box from Blue Apron arrived this morning and that totally makes up for it! For lunch I decided to start with the lemongrass shrimp entree and it was so delicious. I can't wait to have the leftovers for dinner tonight. I had been having cravings for lemongrass soup all week but it seems they have been curbed... for now!

Spanish Harlem

How lush is this printed midi dress from Anthropologie? I love the eyelet detailing on the hem and of course the wrapped beads and neon piping on the neck and waist. I can't wait to wear this dress during my vacation out to San Diego next week! (Lookbook)

New Hope / Lambertville

Welcome to Pennsylvania

I want to try all the flavors please

On Friday, Lauren and I met up with Leslie and Gaeton in New Hope / Lambertville to meet up for lunch and do some window shopping. I'm always up for an excuse to get out of the city for a day! Lauren is from a nearby town and mentioned how she often came here with friends in high school to hang out. There is certainly much to explore in both towns and I love how one can walk back and forth between the two by crossing the bridge over the Delaware River. I went kayaking with Nick up in Frenchtown two years ago (has it really been that long?!) but we didn't get a chance to stop by New Hope on our drive back to Philadephia. If you're in the area, I highly recommend spending a few hours exploring the multitude of interesting shops in both towns. Don't miss the Labor Day weekend fireworks this Friday, August 30 at 9:30 pm!

More photos after the jump of me frolicking with giant sunflowers, generally being a creep, etc.

Duchess for a Day

As you might already know, I adore the Duchess of Cambridge. Even though I know she will probably not wear anything from Issa again, it's still fun to dream!

This Week // Blue Apron

Let the unboxing begin!

Mimi is looking very excited about these entree recipes.

The top layer is filled with vegetables and fruit!

The cod, pork medallions, and chicken breasts are hiding down below.

Kaitlyn and I picnicked in Drexel Park.

This morning I received my first ever delivery from Blue Apron! If you haven't heard of them before, Blue Apron delivers a box to your doorstep once a week which includes all of the ingredients you need to make three wholesome meals for two or more people, depending on your preference. These recipes change weekly, which is great for those desperate to practice their culinary skills, and are designed to save time and reduce waste. A vegetarian option is also available. Today, I opted to try to the cod entree for lunch with my friend Kaitlyn. I can't believe it only took me 20 minutes to prepare and cook. We both loved it! I am so excited to try the other two dishes later this week. Learn more about Blue Apron here.

8th Annual Collingswood Crafts & Fine Art Festival

Russian folk art dolls and sculptures by Zivile Kaminskaite

YUM! I got the sriracha mayo dip!
I seem to be going to quite a few markets, fairs, and festivals recently. A bit more spread out than the 21st Annual Haddonfield Crafts & Fine Art Festival I attended last month, the Collingswood festival did not disappoint. There were simply too many vendors to photograph, but I just adored Zivile's miniature painted Russian dolls, boxes, and other carved sculptures. Out of Chadds Ford, PA, Leontien Rotteveel's hanging pottery planters would be perfect for those with small outdoor spaces. I want one in every color! Perhaps the highlight of the festival would be Philadelphia's own cheese curd truck The Cow and the Curd. Bringing Wisconsin's culinary staple to the East Coast is owner Rob Mitchell's prime directive. Delicious and savory, the tangy sriracha mayo Rob suggested was a perfect match for my afternoon snack. He's got two other dipping options and all sorts of beer pairing tips for you to try! Find out where The Cow and the Curd are "mooving" to next by visiting their Facebook and Twitter.

Clark Park Farmers' Market

I picked out this bouquet for myself

Mmmm blueberries

All of these spices remind me of Nepal, but here they are nicely packaged!

Yesterday morning, I stopped by the farmers' market in Clark Park for the first time in a long while. I always forget about weekend markets in the summer! I picked out some beautiful flowers with which I plan to decorate my apartment. One of the vendors was selling lovely fresh blueberries so I just had to pick up a box. I may just eat them all, but it would be nice to make something with them.

Homemaking

I recently moved into a new apartment that is much closer to campus compared to my old place down in South Philly. A few weeks ago, I went to the 21st Annual Haddonfield Fine Art and Crafts Festival. There were so many cute things for sale at all of the vendors, but I actually picked up a set of eight of these chain-adorned cocktail glasses at Haddonfield Consignment Galleries. I absolutely adore them! The pillows are from Zara and perfectly match the butterfly theme going on in my living room. I'll have to put pictures up of all of my posters eventually. Now that H&M has a home section AND is available online, my wallet might get mad at me. Just kidding, I don't have room for anything else!

Wild Raspberries

On my walk back home from running a few errands this afternoon, I stumbled across a wild raspberry
bush peeking out from behind the fence of the Summer Winter Community Garden. I had been hoping to pick up a treat for later from one of the new lunch trucks around campus, but both the crepe and the cupcake trucks had already left for the evening. Little surprises like this always make my day.
